美國總統候選人辯論

歐巴馬跟馬侃的第一場辯論結束了, 很多媒體發表評論.

場上有幾個爭議點, 非常有趣, 可惜交鋒幾回合, 也沒下文, 也沒有判準, 令人非常困惑...


1. 出兵伊拉克, 遺忘阿富汗, 促成伊朗團結!?!?

侃: 伊拉克是反恐戰場中心, 要是兵敗伊拉克, 則反恐戰爭滿盤皆輸.

歐: 賓拉登在阿富汗, 沒有證據顯示在伊拉克, 卻依然出兵伊拉克, 造成兩個致命傷.

其一, 當然是抓不到元凶, 反而造成重兵陷泥淖伊拉克, 產生兵力排擠效應, 致使阿富汗戰況吃緊.

其二, 美國打爆伊拉克, 反而解決伊朗心腹大患, 把西埃族趕入伊朗, 促進伊朗整合全國反美.

* 沒抓到賓拉登, 反而團結了另一個敵人依朗, 侃沒駁論, 也沒削弱解釋.

希望第二場辯論時, 誰能解釋一下, 或者整理一下損益 (也許仍是信者恆信, 不信者不信)


2. 未預設立場願意坐下跟壞人談 vs. 不跟壞人說話就能懲罰壞人

侃說馬願意不預設立場(底限) 做下跟壞人談, 形同認可對方行徑.

歐說多年來選擇不跟壞人溝通, 難道就懲罰到壞人了嗎.

接著進行大乱鬥, 雙方開始爭執誰比較懂季辛吉? 一個立足點是季辛吉老, 我也老, 老人溝通無代溝.

還好CNN播放日前 "五大老會議" (五位前任國務卿) 會談, 稍微釐清"挺誰"疑雲...

* 如果選民重視此類議題, well 那就多講講理念吧.... so be it...


3. 增稅/減稅

歐要減"中產階級"老百姓所得稅, 理由不贅述, 國力修養生息從根基(底部) 往上.

歐要刪除"工作外移企業"的租稅優惠.

侃要減營利事業所得稅, 若美國稅賦重, 其他國稅賦輕(愛爾蘭), 則企業外移, 不利經濟民生.

* 有趣的是, 整場從頭到尾, 侃連提都不提"中產階級"


4. 擴張支出/刪減支出

基礎建設, 教育, 科技研發, 健保...

侃 campaign theme "the safer choice vs. the risker choice"

90 年代跟 歐拉朱萬 拿 NBA 冠軍杯的元老, 去年投靠 Boston Celtics, 又拿了冠軍杯.

根據聯合新聞網頁的名字, 應該是下圖這位 ...




可是 .... 與事實不符 ... 真正擔任愛國者隊先發四分衛擊敗紐約噴射機隊的是

Matt Cassel , 不是 Sam Cassell (喔, 還有名字拼法也不一樣)






這兩位球員差距那麼大, 名字不同, 膚色不同, 髮量不同, 球不同 ...

只不過都在 Boston, 就被誤植 ... 唉... 繼續加油吧...

Insider's guide to admissions

Douglas Christiansen is Vanderbilt University's associate provost for enrollment and dean of admissions. He's spent the last 20 years in admissions leadership roles in both public and private universities. Now he's using his expertise to give students practical advice on what they can do to get into the right college, in hopes of clearing some of the mystery and misconceptions surrounding the admissions process.

In a series of short and direct video clips, Christiansen tackles questions such as,

"How should I prepare for my college essay—what if I'm not the greatest writer?"

"Who should write my recommendations letter"

"My parents have decent jobs, but we haven't saved much for college. What are my chances of getting financial aid?"


Christiansen also talks about when extracurricular activities can actually hurt an applicant and how to ease the stress surrounding the admissions process.
